The Making of Karwaan
Karwaan had been a dream project of three years. The idea came into existence as a passion project to give a minimalistic yet luxurious home for travelers and adventurers in Nepal.
The existing site was previously used as an office space with a garage on the adjacent side. When we saw the buildings falling apart, we thought, this would be a great site for the project. The Karwaan family then worked diligently to retain and preserve the integrity of the original home while carefully remodeling and outfitting the villa with locally-sourced fixtures and furniture made by local craftsmen. This naturally simple decor, accompanied by a welcoming atmosphere and dedicated service, salutes the natural simplicity synonymous with the Karwaan experience.
Karwaan, sleeps ten to twelve guests, with six beds, four baths, a kitchen and other common areas, such as a large patio and relaxation area with its own small green spaces.
The interior spaces feature the custom made mango wood furniture with a hint of copper to compliment the simple yet effective planning of the space.
