Karwaan was a three-year labor of love. What began as a forgotten office and garage was reimagined by our family as a home for travelers. Our goal was to create a space that felt both luxurious and minimalist, while honoring the integrity of the original building. We carefully remodeled the space, working closely with talented local craftsmen who brought our vision to life with custom-made mango wood furniture and unique copper details. Every piece has a story, a testament to the passion and care poured into every corner of this home.

Our passion for creating a unique home for travelers didn’t stop with the original building. We recently completed a new wing, a four-year project built from the ground up with the same dedication. Just like our original space, its soul is found in the details. This expansion adds 10 new units to Karwaan, allowing us to welcome more guests and continue the journey. Both properties are located right next to each other.

The Making of Karwaan

Karwaan had been a dream project of three years. The idea came into existence as a passion project to give a minimalistic yet luxurious home for travelers and adventurers in Nepal.

The existing site was previously used as an office space with a garage on the adjacent side. When we saw the buildings falling apart, we thought, this would be a great site for the project. The Karwaan family then worked diligently to retain and preserve the integrity of the original home while carefully remodeling and outfitting the villa with locally-sourced fixtures and furniture made by local craftsmen. This naturally simple decor, accompanied by a welcoming atmosphere and dedicated service, salutes the natural simplicity synonymous with the Karwaan experience.

Karwaan, sleeps ten to twelve guests, with six beds, four baths, a kitchen and other common areas, such as a large patio and relaxation area with its own small green spaces.

The interior spaces feature the custom made mango wood furniture with a hint of copper to compliment the simple yet effective planning of the space.
